The art department at XIC, in collaboration with Family@, will be organising an art competition and over the weekend of 17th-19th May, selected pieces of XIC pupils’ artwork will be exhibited alongside local artist’s work at DAR Community Club. Additionally, pupils artwork will be displayed at all three schools sites over the weeks following the exhibition at DAR.
All pupils are invited to participate in the competition. Submitted artwork will be featured in an online gallery, allowing parents and pupils to vote for their favourite pieces. Our expert panel of judges will then select the following winners:
Infants – Gold, Silver, Bronze prizes.
Juniors – Gold, Silver, Bronze prizes.
Secondary – Gold, Silver, Bronze prizes
Start creating now!
We want to provide pupils with ample time to prepare for this year’s competition. The deadline for artwork submissions is Monday 6th May, but we encourage you to start getting creative now. Perhaps this can be a fun project for the upcoming half term or Easter holidays?
Competition details and how to submit artwork:
Theme: Summer.
Size: 40×60 cm canvas.
Name: To avoid any confusion, please ensure that the pupil’s full name and class are clearly written on the back of the artwork (e.g. Sarah Williams, Year 1)
Format/Media: Artwork must be submitted on a 40x60cm canvas, however pieces can be created on paper or other materials before being mounted on canvas. Paintings, collages, photography etc, are all accepted.
Deadline: Artwork should be submitted on or before Monday May 6th. Please drop off artwork at each school site for the Family@ team to collect (*Please note that any entries that do not meet the specified requirements unfortunately cannot be entered for judging)
The Family@ Art Festival is a wonderful opportunity to encourage and develop artistic talent throughout XIC. In addition to the exhibition itself, we will also be organising workshops in school and at the exhibition led by local artists.
We’re so excited to see the creative works that the pupils will showcase this year, especially after witnessing the artwork produced last year.
